During Lent, Archbishop calls for more help for survivors of tragedies
During Lent, the faithful should not only fast but also help the poor, especially those who survived tragedies.
The reminder came from Nueva Caceres Archbishop Rolando Tria Tirona, national director of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines’ NASSA/Caritas Philippines.
He said true sacrifice involves being one with the sacrifice of Jesus Christ.
Earlier, Manila Archbishop Luis Antonio Cardinal Tagle called for support for the Archdiocese’s “Fast to Feed” program that seeks to help 20,000 malnourished children.
