Tulong! Abu bares needs of quake-stricken constituents
House Deputy Speaker Raneo Abu has issued appeal for help following the twin earthquakes that struck his district in Batangas over the weekend.
Abu said that his constituents in the province’s 2nd district, particularly in the municipalities of Mabini and Tingloy, “are in dire need of tent, food and water.”
The politiko made the call for the assistance even as he led an assessment of the damage caused by the tremors in the towns on Saturday afternoon (April 8).
Reports said that there over 2,000 evacuees staying at the Municipal Hall of Mabini, which was struck by a 5.7-magnitude earthquake.
Over in Tingloy which was subsequently hit by a 5.9 magnitude earthquake, some 50 homes were reportedly damaged.
“We need to immediately assess the damage to houses and public infrastructure,” Abu said. #
