Eto na! House panel to tackle Duterte impeachment complaint
Oriental Mindoro 2nd District Representative Reynaldo Umali said the House Committee on Justice will finally discuss the first impeachment complaint filed against President Rodrigo Duterte on Monday (May 15).
Umali, the Committee on Justice chairman, said the panel is set to determine whether or not the complaint is sufficient in form and in substance.
The hearing will be held at the Nograles Hall at 9:30 AM.
Magdalo Party-list Representative Gary Alejano, an opposition politiko, filed the impeachment complaint against Duterte on March 16.
Alejano wants Duterte impeached for his alleged involvement in the Davao Death Squad, the bloody war against drugs, his alleged unexplained wealth, the “ghost” employees of the Davao City government when Duterte was mayor, and the President’s approach in handling the West Philippine Sea or South China Sea dispute with China.
