Bong Revilla defends Duterte’s declaration of martial law

As a public servant, former Senator and now detainee Bong Revilla Jr. has expressed his opinion on today’s most pressing national matter: President Rodrigo Duterte’s decision to declare Martial Law in Mindanao in response to the Maute Group’s terrorism threats.

He justified that President Rody is just doing his job, abiding what is stated in the revised PH constitution.
“The constitution explicitly granted the President the power to declare martial law to preserve the integrity of the Republic and any of its parts.

Senator Bong expressed that it is better to address the terrorism issue first, instead of criticizing the actions of the President. He insisted that the welfare of the people who are affected by the war be the top priority and concern.

In the end, he called for unity and support for Pres. Rody, the AFP and the whole country.
“Magkaisa tayo Pilipino. Support our President. Support our government. Support our troops.
God bless the Philippines.”
