Dead whale shark found in Cavite waters
A whale shark was found floating off the waters in Rosario, Cavite on Saturday, September 9.
According to a report of ABS-CBN.com, the whale shark or “butanding” was found by fishermen along Tanza Bay.
Philippine Coast Guard Lt. Comm. Airlan Lapitan said the fishermen Jessie Boy and Joven Estrella pulled the lifeless 17-feet-long and 8-feet-wide whale shark to Pandawan Fish Port
The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources took the whale shark and currently assessing its cause of death.
Whale sharks can grow up to 40-feet long or more and the largest fish species in the sea.
