Bacoor backs Duterte’s federalism call
The city government of Bacoor has thrown its full support to the administration’s plan to have a federal form of government.
Mayor Lani Mercado personally attended a federalism rally on October 7 in Luneta together with other provincial and city government officials.
“The City of Bacoor threw its full support for President Rodrigo Duterte’s call for federalism,” the local government said in a statement.
“Bacoor City Mayor Lani Mercado Revilla led the march towards Luneta together with Cavite Vice Governor Jolo Revilla, Bacoor City officials, and Bacoorenos,” it added.
A shift to a federal form of goverbment from the current unitary has been the campaign promise of Duterte.
The President said that federalism will bring equal growth and opportunity across the Philippines particularly the countryside.
