Gov Mandanas, Komisyon ng Wikang Filipino ink MOU to build ‘Bantayog-Wika’

Feb 5, 2018 @ 16:12

Batangas Governor Dodo Mandanas and the Komisyon ng Wikang Filipino (KWF) on January 22 signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) seeking the construction of a “Bantayog-Wika” at the provincial capitol.

According to the KWF, a Bantayog-Wika is a shrine for intangible cultural heritage like language, which has an important role in forging and strenghtening national identity.

The Bantayog-Wika will be 10 feet x 2 feet in size and made up of stainless steel.

It will be built by sculptor Luis “Jun” Lee.
