Revilla urges Bacoor to support Hemophilia benefit concert
Cavite 2nd District Representative Strike Revilla on January 25 called on residents to support a fundraising concert for the benefit of those afflicted by hemophilia.
The Cavite politiko said he recently learned how hemophilia affects around 1 million Filipinos and how only about 1.5% get properly diagnosed.
“Ngayong araw na ito, I had the chance to know more about the bleeding disorder Hemophilia. It is a medical condition wherein the blood does not clot properly,” he said.
“I learned that it is genetic and a lifelong disease. I learned that there are about 1 million Filipinos suffering from this disorder (mostly men), with only around 1,500 diagnosed properly because of insufficient information and resources,” Revilla added.
He also said he learned that people die because of the condition.
“Together, we can learn more about this and do something. I appeal to you, mga kababayan. This March, which is ‘Hemophilia Awareness Month’/’Bleeding Disorders Awareness Month,’ we are again supporting a fundraising event/concert-variety show-zumba for-a-cause for the benefit of our fellow Bacooreños afflicted with Hemophilia. Let’s help give them a chance to live longer, healthier, and happier,” Revilla said.
