Batangas City suspends U-Hop operations
Batangas City has suspended ride-hailing company U-Hop from operating in the city.
The Batangas City Council suspended U-Hop on February 6 because it has not yet secured Certificates of Public Convenience from the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB).
U-Hop Sales and Operations Chief Nick Laude said the company will submit a position paper to the Batangas City Council.
Laude said the ride-hailing company began operating in Batangas City “after they received a go-signal to operate” during a Senate committee hearing.
“It was just verbal communication. We have no black and white documents to present to them,” he said.
The Batangas City Council said U-Hop’s franchise is still pending.#
