General Mariano Alvarez eyes ‘zero waste’ by end of 2018
General Mariano Alvarez is eyeing “zero waste” by the end of the year.
GMA Mayor Walter Echavarria Jr on April 10 signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with EcoWaste Coalition (Ecowaste) seeking to strengthen the implementation of the Ecological Solid Waste Management Act.
The MOA formalizes the municipality’s partnership with Ecowaste, which began last October.
Under the agreement, Ecowaste will study household ecological solid waste management (ESWM) practices in GMA.
They will also implement a capacity-building project for seven barangays as well as assist them in implementing their solid waste management programs.
The GMA municipal government, meanwhile, will lead the information and education drive.
