Pang big-time! Majayjay farmers may soon get fast-food chains as clients, says Mayor Jojo Clado

Jul 14, 2018 @ 13:30

It may not be long before farmers in Majayjay would help feed the customers of fast food giants Jollibee and Chowking.

In a Facebook post, Majayjay Mayor Jojo Clado said representatives of the Ahon sa Hirap, Inc. foundation visited the town to teach its farmers the standards followed by Jollibee so that it would be able to buy the farmers’ produce.

Clado said this was part of the program to link farmers with a steady client or market.

Jollibee owns the fast food chain Chowking, which needs a constant supply of sayote, kangkong, cucumbers, and tomatoes for its dishes.

If the arrangement to buy the farmers’ produce pushes through, the farmers would now get a regular source of income.
