Cheap ni chief! Infanta Councilor LA Ruanto unhappy over new Chief Justice Teresita de Castro
The appointment of the country’s new Chief Justice, Teresita De Castro, has drawn a lot of flak and commentary, and Infanta Councilor LA Ruanto is one of those who voiced his opposition to the development.
De Castro would only serve for a little over a month as Chief Justice before she reaches retirement age, thus raising questions about the point of naming her to the top judicial post.
Moreover, De Castro played a key role in the ouster of her predecessor Maria Lourdes Sereno, and had made no secret that she was unhappy when the much younger Sereno had been named the top magistrate in 2012.
In a Facebook post, Ruanto shared a link to a news story of De Castro’s appointment and made no secret of his displeasure about this development.
“Delicadeza man lang sana. Cheap Justice,” he posted on Facebook.
